Well, maybe not exactly like me.
It was so meager, its head pointing down just following its longing eyes, its paws furless like its back...
So I looked to my human pet and looked back to the dog on the side walk.
Somehow, Celina understood my question and spoke to me: - not a nice sight, isn't? Poor dog!
Poor? What does it mean to be poor?
From the look of that dog, who resembles to a dog like me but still looks so different, my heart sank.
I do have a comfortable and warm place to sleep everynight.
That yellow dog don't.
I do have fresh water and my bowl of chow every day.
That yellow dog don't.
I do have yearly shots and medicines anytime I would get sick.
That yellow dog don't.
Most of all, I do have someone who cares about me.
But not that yellow dog .
So I looked back again to my human pet with watery eyes and to the yellow dog once more.
My human pet sighed and said: - I wish we could do something about it. There's no acceptable reason for anybody to not have the basics to survive!
Because this is what being poor means. Lack of the basics to survive.
To be hungry.
To feel cold.
To feel pain.
To sleep on a hard bed.
To be in despair.
All this, while there's so much around.
And each of us have so much to give. Maybe not in money, but in HELP.
Think and answer to yourself: HOW CAN I HELP ?
